Conference Venue
The conference will be held at the University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia. The beautiful University of Queensland St Lucia Campus is situated on the Brisbane River just 7 km from the city centre and 18 km from the Airport. The university is one of Australia’s oldest and most prestigious campuses with over 25,000 students and 2,000 academic staff. Taxis and regular bus and river-boat services connect the campus to the city centre in 15 minutes. All Conference sessions will be held on the University of Queensland campus in modern, well equipped lecture theatres.

Hawken Buiding (50) will be the main location of events. Room S201 will be the Registration, Demonstrations and General Meeting area, with Lecture theatres 2 and 3 as the session locations.

International Delegates
All overseas delegates must ensure that they have a valid passport and the correct visa for entry into Australia. Delegates should ensure that all documentation is in order prior to leaving their countries. Australia’s Electronic Travel Authority system (ETA) is a streamlined travel authorisation system. Details are available on http://www.immi.gov.au/general/othersites.htm. A LETTER OF INVITATION for participation in the Conference may be obtained by contacting the Conference Secretariat by email sally.brown@uq.net.auor by Fax: 61 7 3201 2809. Such an invitation is only to assist participants raise travel funds or to obtain a visa, it is not a commitment on the part of the organisers to provide financial support.

Climate and Clothing
Australia’s seasons are opposite to the seasons in the Northern Hemisphere. November is Summer time in Brisbane and temperatures range from 18°C-27°C. A hat and sunscreen are recommended for outdoor activities. Dress for the conference, including the Conference dinner, is casual comfortable clothing. Ties and jackets are not necessary. We recommend that you bring a sweater / jacket for the cooler evenings and for the Conference dinner venue.

Domestic Air Travel within Australia – Official Travel Agency
Corporate Travel Management (CTM) has been appointed the Official Travel Agency of the Conference. CTM is offering special flexible/changeable conference airfares at up to 45% discount in economy class on Qantas services, and the best internet or published airfares on Qantas Airways and Virgin Blue Airlines, for the conference.

The Tour Code Number must be quoted to access the specially designated Conference Airfares. INTERNATIONAL visitors are advised to consult their travel agent for the best discount airfare available.

Airport Transfers
COACHTRANS provides coach transfers from Brisbane international and domestic terminals to the Transit Centre in the city centre every 30 minutes at AUD$9.00 per person. Local Council buses and taxis are then available to transport delegates to the University St Lucia Campus (15 minutes). A taxi from the city to the University is approximately AUD$17. A taxi fare from the airport to the University is approximately AUD$38.

A regular train service (the Airtrain) also operates between Brisbane airport and the city (Transit Centre). See www.airtrain.com.au. Transport timetable information is available from Transinfo on 13 12 30 (from within Australia) and at http://www.transinfo.qld.gov.au.

Insurance
Registration fees do not include insurance of any kind. It is strongly recommended that all delegates take out their own travel and medical insurance prior to coming to the Conference. The policy should include loss of fees/deposit through cancellation of your participation in the Conference, or through cancellation of the Conference itself, loss of airfares for any reason, medical expenses, loss or damage to personal property, additional expenses and repatriation should travel arrangements have to be altered. The Conference Secretariat will not take any responsibility for any participant failing to insure. Please speak to your travel agent or airline in regard to this matter.
